Lenovo shows off it’s 27-inch IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC, range starts at $1,699

Lenovo surely knows how to kick-off the new year in style! The company has showcased it’s 27-inch, Windows-8 powered all-in-one PC, the IdeaCentre Horizon which it calls as a Table PC, that sports a full HD display with a 10-point multi-touch. The design of the device enables it to be used as a gigantic tablet as well.
The Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon is quite heavy at around 7.7 Kg and feels quite solidly built while at the same time, with a thickness of just 27mm, is quite thin as well. The All-In-One PC from Lenovo can configured to be powered by either of the Intel Core processors- i3, i5 or i7 with up to 8GB of RAM. The graphics on the device are brilliant, all thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce GT 620M while the IdeaCentre Horizon also get’s a few options in terms of storage space as well, going right up till 1TB.
Lenovo thinks that you might end up traveling with this device and thus, has included a battery in the Horizon which can last up to 2 hours on a single charge.
Lenovo has integrated it’s custom multi-user interface Aura heavily on the device, which runs on top of Windows 8 and pops up automatically when you place the Horizon into it’s table-top flat mode. Aura’s “Moon-dial” interface provides the users a very intuitive way for launching applications and browsing through media on the Horizon. It is clearly evident that Lenovo has designed the Horizon to be used by more than one user at a time. Though, it’ll work great as your desktop, but just lay it down on flat surface and you’ll know what we mean.
The Horizon comes pre-loaded with games like King of the Opera, Monopoly, Raiding Company, etc. and Lenovo has even tied-up with companies like Ubisoft and EA sports to produce games which are specifically designed for the Horizon. The device comes bundled with some accessories like joysticks,e-dice and strikers to give the users a more physical gaming experience and calls it “phygital”.
The Horizon will be available for retail sale starting this summer and would cost $1,699 and up. This might just be the signs of thing to come as the company is also showcasing a 39-inch prototype device called “Gamma” during CES.
