Acer Iconia B1 finally shows up at CES, as expected!

It was being rumored since long and finally, it’s official! Acer has officially announced it’s budget Android tablet, the Iconia B1 at CES. The 7-inch tablet running Android Jelly Bean underneath will be powered by a 1.2GHz MediaTek processor paired with 512MB of RAM. Now, don’t expect it to give you a blazing fast performance, but expect it to hold up pretty nicely at most of the things you throw at it.
The Acer Iconia B1 will be priced at $99 but only in some markets across the world whereas others would get it for a price ranging from $129 to $149. This was confirmed by Acer’s President Jim Wong in an interview with ABC news wherein he said,

The Acer Iconia B1 might not dent the sales of Google Nexus 7 or Amazon Kindle fire HD, as the gap in the price of these devices is pretty much evident from the low-end specifications of the Iconia B1 which gets a lower resolution WSVGA screen, 0.3 megapixel camera and only 8GB of internal storage but there’s a micro-SD card slot for storage expansion.
One thing that might cheer the users in India is that the tablet will be launched in Asia and South America by the end of this month and expect India to be in the list as well, as previously, we already had reports of the tablet making it’s way to the stores in India by January-end.
So, all we hope now is that India is one of the countries where the tablet retails for $99 (~ Rs.5,400)!
