Toshiba unveils a budget touchscreen Ultrabook, the Satellite U845t

Ultrabooks have been in for quite some time now but still haven’t gathered as much momentum as it was initially predicted and one of the major reasons for this is the higher price of Ultrabooks as compared to conventional notebooks. That might just change this year as we expect Ultrabooks to become more affordable and one such device has just been showcased by Toshiba.
Come in, the Satellite U845t- A touchscreen enabled budget Ultrabook from Toshiba, running on Windows 8. This is an upgraded model of the U845 Ultrabook, which was released last year and now comes with a touchscreen while everything else essentially remains the same.
The U845t Ultrabook sports a 14-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and is powered by an optional Core i3 or i5 Intel processors with up to 6GB of RAM. The device gets a 500GB hard drive with 32GB of SSD space as well. The U845t Ultrabook also gets an HDMI port, an Ethernet port, an SD card slot, one USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports.
Though, at 1.8 Kg the device is a bit on the heavier side and has a thickness 20.3mm which is certainly not the slickest Ultrabook we’ve seen till date but is a great device nonetheless at the price at which it comes. The U845t is priced at $799.99 and will go on sale starting March 10,2013.
