HTC Butterfly hitting stores in India by Jan-end in the price range of 45K (Rs. 45,000) or more.

HTC is all set to release it’s current flagship smartphone, the HTC Butterfly in India by the end of this month at an MRP of Rs.49,990 though we expect the street price of the device to be close to be close to Rs.45,000 mark. The device which originally was launched Japan with the name of “J Butterfly”, later made it’s way to the US with a name of “Droid DNA” and the international version of the device is known as HTC Butterfly.
Considering the price tag, the smartphone is all set to become the most expensive Android smartphone in India till date, priced above the hot-selling Samsung Galaxy S3 and even HTC’s own One X+. The launch is almost confirmed and the company has even started posting teaser images on the HTC India page on Facebook.
The most important aspect of the device is the fact that it’s the first smartphone to feature a 5-inch Full-HD 1080p display, amounting to a pixel density of a whooping 440ppi. The HTC Butterfly is powered by a 1.5GHz Qulcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.
The HTC Butterfly has 16GB of internal storage and houses an 8.1- megapixel primary camera with HTC’s image sense chip which freatly improves the camera optics on the device. The Butterfly also sports a 2.1-megapixel front camera which can be used for video calling. For connectivity, the HTC Butterfly gets all high-end features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, DLNA, etc and the device houses a 2,020 mAh battery.
HTC Butterfly runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sense 4+ UI on top and is upgradable to Android 4.2. Considering the price point, we’re not sure if it’ll be worth a buy or not considering that Sony Xperia Z would also be launched soon globally, which features similar specializations and it’s dust and water resistant capabilities adding to the advantage of Xperia Z. Also, HTC is rumored to be announcing it’s next flagship device, the M7 during  MWC next month and in our opinion, it’ll be better to save up money for a newer device.
