Jelly Bean update for HTC One S rolling out in select countries
The long-due Jelly Bean update for the HTC One S is finally being rolled out in the European markets and soon, you can expect the update to be pushed to the other countries as well. According to people over at XDA developers, the total size of the update is 612.27MB, while the software version is updated to 3.16.401.8 and the Android version is 4.1.1.
The update for the HTC One S brings to the table, all the goodies that Android Jelly Bean offers, while HTC has also updated it’s Sense UI version in this update and now, the One S runs on Android 4.1.1 with Sense 4+ UI on top.  The Sense 4+ brings quite a few HTC-specific features to the smartphone like a tweaked camera interface, HTC Get Started, HTC Watch 2.0, a new Gallery interface and many more.
The new Android version itself adds many new features to the smartphone like Google Now, majorly improved Google Search, and also major performance updates which come along under Google’s “Project Butter”. The update is also said to improve the power management issue, which users have been complaining about since a while now.
While the update should bring some joy for the One S users, it is still worthy to note that even now, they don’t have the latest version of Android installed on their devices, because Google is already out with Android 4.2 a while back and it doesn’t seem that HTC would be willing to update to the newer version of Android anytime soon.
HTC had earlier announced that it would be updating the One X, One S and the One XL to Android Jelly Bean, and now with the update out for the One X as well as One S, it’s only the One XL users who are still waiting to hear some good news!
