The tablet PC market in India is getting hotter by the day. The latest local entrants in this market are MyPad and YUP tablet PCs that are bseing marketed in India by Mangal Electronics. The company, after introducing one of the world’s smallest pocket size projector and human touch door locks systems, have now switched over to the tablet segment.
Yup and the MyPad
MyPad and YUP run on 2.3.1 and the 3.0 Android Platform, respectively. The first one, the MyPad is a 7-inch tablet, while the YUP has a screen size of 10.2 inches. YUP also comes in two design variants - chrome with black and an all white glossy finish.
According to Mr. Gaurav Jajodia, Director, Mangal Electronics, “Tablets PC’s will certainly change the dynamics of Indian mobile and computer industry as tablets going to be an easy , fast and affordable solution of voice and data requirement of any individual.”

The higher end version of the two will be powered by a 1GHz built-in processor with 3G/Wi-Fi connectivity option, while both the tablets will be fully compatible with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. The built-in front and back camera help you connect via video chats , skype calls and video conferencing. Both the tablets double up as ebook readers as well. Along with this, the tablets come with built-in GPS. Naturally, since this is an Android tablet, you’ll get access to a range of Android applications on the Android market.
According to the company, the MyPad and YUP tablets are available in key cities and stores across the country and are available at a price range starting from Rs.5,000 going up to Rs.18,000.
