Apple to unveil 8 GB iPad 2 on March 7

Apple is also expected to bring iPad 3 in three storage options and also bring 4G LTE supporting model.

Apple will introduce a new 8 GB iPad 2 model on March 7 in San Francisco (USA), DigiTimes reported quoting Taiwan based suppliers. The information came a day after it was revealed that the iPhone maker is about to launch the next generation iPad 3 on March 7 in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB storage options.
The iPad 3 is being speculated to be a full touchscreen, button less tablet. Its display is expected support 2048x1536 resolution with 264 dots per inch pixel density. Apple will be introducing in iPad 3 in three different flavors - WiFi, WiFi+3G and WiFi+4G LTE. Indeed it is kind of surprising but the company might use Qualcomm's next generation smaller radio chips to support 4G LTE in the iPad 3 tablet.
The iPad 3 is also expected to carry 8 megapixel camera sensor, apparently the same one used in the iPhone 4S. The tablet will also have an updated version of Apple A5 SoC processor dubbed as the A5X to deliver better performance.
Along with new 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB storage option models of the iPad 3, Apple is expected introduce 8 GB iPad 2. At the event, Apple is rumored to show off a new lossless format for streaming music and the service will be made available later this year. So the ideal combination appears to be 8 GB iPad 2 with music streaming and iCloud storage service. That appears to be a perfect combination that any person can opt for against the other Android OS based tablet options.
Price of this 8 GB iPad 2 can be $349 (Rs 17,500 approx.) since the pricing of the 16GB iPad 2 starts at $499 (Rs 22,500) and might go through a $50 (Rs 2,500 approx.) price cut.
After introducing 8 GB iPad 2 at an affordable pricing, Apple need not introduce any other smaller screen sporting iPad variation. However, the Taiwan based supply chain claims to have been spotting 7.85 inch iPad versions rotating for verifications, reported DigiTimes. However, the production of this 7.85 inch tablet is expected to commence in the third quarter of this year.
As of now, the new 8 GB iPad 2 model launch seems like a plausible at the event on March 7.
