The 5-inch smartphone market is set to witness an intense competition as Lava readies Micromax Canvas HD rival, called the Xolo A1000.
Lava looks to be set to launch another smartphone under its Xolo series, called the Xolo A1000. A prototype of the device has been spotted by FoneArena, which claims in its report the Xolo A1000 has a 5-inch screen and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.
According to the site, the Xolo A1000 is 8.8mm thick, slimmer than the most of the 5-inch smartphones in the market. The device is reported to run on a dual-core processor, not Intel-based. The Xolo A1000 has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, a front-facing camera, and a 2100mAh battery. There are capacitive touch buttons for multi-tasking , home and back. The Xolo A1000 is expected to be priced between Rs. 12,000 – Rs. 15,000. According to The Mobile Indian, the shipment of the smartphone will begin from February 16. Moreover, the device will be initially available in two colours – white and black.
The site claims the Xolo A1000 is a dual-SIM version of the recently launched Xolo A800, and has 1GB of RAM and 4 GB of built-in storage and microSD slot that supports storage up to 32GB.
The device is being pitted against the Micromax Canvas A116 HD, which is set to launch on February 14.
The Canvas HD comes with an impressive set of specifications, including 5-inch IPS display, 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT 6589 processor along with 1GB of RAM, dual-SIM and 8MP camera. The phablet is also expected to be priced below Rs. 15,000.
The Lava Xolo A1000 surfaces shortly after the launch of the Xolo A500, which impressed in the benchmarks. The A500 features 3.5-inch display with a 480x320 pixel resolution, 5MP rear camera, 4GB of built-in storage expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot and Intel Atom ‘Lexington’ Z2420 SoC chipset. .
