MTV has partnered with the US-based tablet manufacturer Swipe Telecom to launch the MTV Volt Fablet in India at a price of Rs.12,999. The dual-SIM ‘Fablet’ (Yes, that’s what they call it) runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and would be available starting tomorrow via all the major online retailers as well as stores across the country.
Moving over to the specifications, the MTV Volt boasts of a 6-inch FWVGA capacitive touchscreen display (854 x 480 pixel resolution) and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek processor paired with 512MB DDR3 of RAM. The fablet offers an impressive 8 megapixel camera with LED flash at the back and also, a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video calling.

The fablet has 4GB of on-board storage which can be expanded by up to 32GB using a micro-SD card and for connectivity, the fablet offers 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The MTV Volt packs-in a 3,200mAh battery which according to the company, can give a talk time of about 8-10 hours.
One of the unique features of the fablet is it’s in-built TV-player, which allows the users on-the-go access to MTV, so now you can watch your favorite MTV shows on the fablet itself. The MTV volt fablet will face a tough fight from Indian manufacturers, who offer quite impressive products at this price point.
