HTC to launch quad-core based HTC Edge smartphone on Feb 26: Report

This year we are set to see a number of quad-core devices. Last year, rumours had suggested that the upcoming Samsung flagship smartpone, Samsung S III, is going to feature a quad-core processor. Also, Lenovo and Acer were rumoured to be prepping quad-core based tablets. While we are yet to hear more from these manufacturers, a report at GSM Arena claims that Taiwanese manufacturer HTC is going to launch its first quad-core smartphone HTC Edge at an event on February 26. The launch of the new HTC quad-core phone is being seen as a move to grab the maximum attention just before the Mobile World Conference 2012.
The new HTC Edge is likely to feature the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0 UI, and sports 4.7-inch screen with an HD resolution, 1GB of RAM and NVIDIAAP30 Tegra 3 1.5GHz quad-core processor. The HTC Edge features 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 lens and 720p video recording capabilities.
According to GSM Arena, a number of manufacturers including SonyHuawei and Samsungare also planning their events on the same day.
