Late in November, this year we had reported about Panasonic's probable foray to the smartphone race, more like the Android smartphone race. Sure enough, Panasonic announced today that by March 2012, they would launch a smartphone. Panasonic plans to first launch the handset in Europe and then expand to the United States and Asia. The brand aims to sell 15 million units by the 16th of March, 2016.
Slim and stylish Panasonic smartphone
Details are slim on the yet unnamed smartphone, but Panasonic has shed some light on few of the specifications. The highlighted features of their upcoming smartphone include:
- 4.3-inch qHD OLED display
- Dustproof and Waterproof
- Ultra-slim D-shaped design
This handset will also feature a slim bezel and three touch sensitive buttons will feature at the bottom of the screen. From the image above, we can see that the handset will also have NFC capabilities and will run on Google’s Android OS. There is no word yet on which build of the operating software will it run on. But with a possible March launch date, we are sure details will leak.
Let us know your reactions on Panasonic launching an Android handset and do you think if it will make a mark in the smartphone market?
