Levovo has added a new tablet to its Indian product portfolio, the IdeaPad Tablet A1000 (a.k.a IdeaTab A1000), first unveiled at MWC 2013. The tablet is available on Lenovo’s online store and as of writing this article isn’t listed on other online retail stores such as flipkart, infibeam or saholic. The tablet is available in black and is priced at Rs. 8,999 and carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty.
The Ideapad Tablet A1000 has a 7-inch display with a 1024x600 pixel resolution. It runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek 8317 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The tablet houses 4GB built-in storage expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. The tablet has a 0.3MP front facing camera and compromises on a rear-facing camera. The tablet runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and this is a tad disappointing considering the fact that we have seen the launch of quite a few budget tablets launch running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean from the get-go.
The IdeaTab A1000 is 0.7mm thin and weighs a mere 340 grams. Lenovo claims 8 hours of Wi-Fi browsing on a single battery charge and we would like to put that claim to the test once we get our hands on it. The tablet also supports dual stereo speakers & Dolby audio enhancement along with USB OTG capabilities.
