Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro Benchmarks

Galaxy Grand Quattro : Win 0

While the world is going crazy over Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4, the company is working hard to ensure that it’s mid-range devices are also well-received by people who seek affordable yet powerful smartphones.
One of such mid-range smart phones from Samsung, the Galaxy Grand has been selling quite well in the Indian market since it’s launch, and maybe that prompted the company to launch a lesser-priced device, but with a similar name. Come in, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro.
Priced at Rs.17990, the smart phone is known as Galaxy Win in other markets around the world, but Samsung hopes to capitalize on the “Galaxy Grand” brand name, hence, a similar name for the new device.
Coming to the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Quatrro is the younger brother to the Galaxy Grand, and features a smaller, 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, amounting to a pixel density of 199 pixels per inch. Under the hood, the smart phone gets a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8625Q Snapdragon 200 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 203 GPU.
With 8GB of storage on-board, the Galaxy Grand Quatrro also allows to expand the storage by up to 32GB using a micro-SD card.
The smart phone gets a 5 megapixel rear camera capable of shooting 720p videos, while it gets a VGA camera at the front for video calling. The Dual-SIM Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top and for connectivity, offers 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS.
Starting our benchmark tests, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro beats its elder brother, as it scores 4385, as opposed to the Galaxy Grand, which scored 3766 in our benchmark tests.
We saw a similar trend in AnTuTu benchmarks as well, where the Galaxy Grand Quattro got the better of Galaxy Grand once again, with a score of 10,910. The Galaxy Grand had scored only 6870 in our test.

Finally, we tested the graphic performance of the Galaxy Grand Quattro, and this is one area where the smartphone loses to the Galaxy Grand. The Quattro manages to score just 42.8 fps, while the Galaxy Grand got a top score of 58.8 fps.
So, are these benchmark scores impressive enough for you to choose the Galaxy Grand Quattro over the Galaxy Grand? ( the former being cheaper as well!) Do let us know in the comments section!
