The Samsung Galaxy S Mini has been rumoured for quite some timeand leaked in photos, but today, we’re hearing that the cheaper version of the coveted S4 might be launching sometime this week. Some are hypothesizing that the release this week comes due to the images that leaked last week and Samsung may want to capitalize on the publicity.
The rumoured specifications of the S4 mini include a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a qHD (960x540 pixel) resolution, giving it a pixel density of 256ppi. Under the hood, a 1.66GHz dual-core processor will power the smartphone and it will run on Android 4.2.2 straight out of the box along with the TouchWiz UI. The S4 Mini is expected to have a dual-SIM variant as well. What is a little puzzling about the S4 Mini is that the leaked specs suggest a dual-core processor. Instead, Samsung could have used the Exynos 4212 Quad Core processor, which has been tried and tested in the Galaxy S III?
The smartphone is expected to launch in the usual white frost and black mist sometime this week, though the availability is pegged as end of May or early June. Unfortunately, the rumours suggest nothing on price, just that it will be lesser than the Galaxy S4.
