amsung gears up to counter Nokia's super successful Asha series.
In the last few months we have had a slew of smartphones launched by Samsung, but now it seems that the company doesn't want to neglect the feature phone segment, which has the largest user base in India.
Sources familiar with a new development at Samsung said to The Mobile Indian, "Samsung will launch a new range of feature phones to counter the challenge from Nokia's Asha series of phones. It will be a global launch and India will be the first country to get the feature phones."
Of late Nokia's Asha series of phones has dominated the feature phone market because of its affordable pricing and power packed features.
Interestingly, the last feature phone of Samsung, Champ Neo Duos, was launched in September last year and was priced at Rs 3,670.
Samsung Champ Neo Duos is a dual SIM feature phone and has a 2.4 inch VGA">QVGA TFT touch display with Samsung's TouchWiz-Lite UI atop. It doesn't have a camera but has a 1000 mAh battery, which claims to provide up to 14 hours of talk time.
