However, Micromax is claiming to be selling 8,000 Micromax Canvas 2 handsets daily.
Micromax's popular Superfone Canvas II A110 seems to have evaporated from the market, forcing many to wonder whether the phone which attracted lot of attention in India would ever be available to the market or not. Currently, the phone is unavailable from most online retailers like Flipkart, Saholic, Homeshop18, Shopclues or name any other retailer.
Canvas II comes with a really interesting specification like Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, 5 inch touchscreen, 1 GHz dual core processor, 8 megapixel rear camera, 32 GB expandable memory etc. You can read the review of the handset here.
The Micromax Canvas II was selling in the market for around Rs 10,000. But it seems that the entire shipment of the handset, which the Indian handset manufacturer orders from China, has been sold out. This seems to be an unprecedented situation for Micromax. Seeing the immense popularity, Micromax could now order a new batch of the Canvas II but that seems a distant affair as the company is now gearing up to launch the next variant of its superfine handset - the Micromax Canvas HD which is priced at around Rs 15,000 and comes with quad core processor.
When quizzed, a spokesperson of Micromax told The Mobile Indian, "We have no supply issues and we have enough stocks of the Canvas II A110. However, the retailers are facing it difficult to meet the demand."
He also added, "We are currently selling 8,000 Micromax Canvas 2 handsets daily."
