Published on Dec 27, 2012LG has always been a pioneer of high definition screens on mobile devices. And if its most recent plans are to be believed, the South Korean tech giant is all set to consolidate its advantageous position even further next year. LG will apparently showcase its latest smartphone and tablet screens at CES in Las Vegas between January 8 and January 11, 2013.
According to GSMarena, LG has developed a number of displays that will be unveiled to the public next month. The smallest of the lot is a 4.7-inch screen. Besides a high resolution, this display boasts of a remarkably thin bezel, to the tune of 1mm. When used on smartphones, LG’s new screen will make 4.7-inch devices much more compact than they currently are.
Next in line is the tech giant’s 5.5-inch invention. Perfect for use with phablets, this Full HD screen comes with a pixel density of a whooping 403ppi. This too, will be a marked improvement from this year’s offerings.
LG’s next generation 7-inch display has a lot to show for itself too. Equipped with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a pixel density of 324ppi, it promises a clearer screen than the latest iPad and Nexus 7 slates. This particular display is comparable to the one found on the newest iPhone.
From everything that LG has lined up for unveiling at CES, it looks like the tech major has big plans for 2013. Mobile enthusiasts and critiques alike can look forward to a number of new devices in the future, each loaded with features better than the next.
