LG Optimus G Pro announced for Japan, gets Full HD display and quad-core processor

Rumors had been surfacing about the existence of LG Optimus G Pro since a while now and today, we have official confirmation that the device is indeed coming. One of Japan’s largest mobile carriers NTT Docomo has announced the LG Optimus G Pro in it’s lineup of devices for Spring 2013.
The LG Optimus G Pro takes over from where the Optimus G left. The device comes with all the top-of-the-line features such as a 5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a blazing 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 32GB of internal storage along with a micro-SDXC card slot for storage expansion.
The LG Optimus Pro G features a 13 primary megapixel camera but on the downside, runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Though it might soon be upgraded to Android 4.2, but we would have liked to the Optimus G Pro running the latest version of Android out-of-the-box itself.
Though as of now the device has only been announced for the Japanese market and that too, not by LG, but we can expect that LG would soon make an announcement regarding the availability of the device in other countries. Meanwhile, NTT DoCoMo customers in Japan would be to get their hands on the Optimus G Pro starting April but there’s no word regarding the price of the LG Optimus G Pro yet.
