The Bottom Line
The Lava Xolo A800 has a nice design and excellent build quality. The process is powerful but what lets it down is it’s 512MB of RAM.

Initial Impressions

Like many other new Indian handset brands Lava has made a name for itself in a very small time. The latest to have come out of Lava mobile’s kitty is the Lava Xolo A800.
The White Lava Xolo A800 looks very similar to Samsung Galaxy S III. However, it comes with a matte finish, which makes this smartphone look less plasticky than the Galaxy S III. Besides having classy design, the build quality of this phone is up to the mark.
Lava A800 packs in a 1 GHz Dual Core processor and MT6577 chipset. The gadget comes with an internal storage of 4GB, which is quite impressive. It supports an external memory of microSD up to 32GB, and has 512MB RAM.
The Lava Xolo A800 also comes with free 8GB SD card. It runs on latest version of Android v 4.0 (ICS) operating system. Leveraging on its dual SIM slot option, you can also easily manage your calling and net browsing tasks. Packed with Li-Ion 1600 mAh battery, the handset can perform for a decent period of time. It is to be noted that the battery life of this phone is just decent and nothing more.
The Lava Xolo A800 comes with a 4.5-inch 16M colour capacitive touch screen IPS display with 245 ppi. The display and the viewing angles look good. The under-sun visibility on the Lava Xolo A800 was decent.
The pictures captured through the 8-megapixel auto focus camera on board are quite crisp and clear. The quality of videos captures through the back camera is good too. Although, we did notice that the lens makes a slight clicking noise while focussing on an object, which was very peculiar. We haven’t seen that on any other mobile phone so far!
