Idea launches dual-SIM Ivory smartphone in India at Rs.7,390

Telecom major Idea Cellular has launched a budget Android smartphone- The “Ivory” in India running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at a price of Rs.7,390.

The Ivory is powered by a 1GHz processor clubbed with 512MB of RAM and sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen display that has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The device comes with a 3.2 megapixel rear camera and has 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 32GB using a micro-SD card. The phone has dual-SIM card slots, one of which supports 3G.

For connectivity, the Ivory gets Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, A-GPS and the device comes pre-installed with some popular applications like Facebook, Twitter, Music Video Player, documents to go, etc.

The Ivory houses a 1,300 mAh battery and comes in two color options- White and Black and is available with all the major retailers across India. To make the deal more attractive for users, Idea is offering 1GB of free data for the first three months along with free Idea TV for just Rs.261.

Considering it’s price point, the Ivory doesn’t seem to offer much as compared to other smartphones like Micromax A68 and Lava Iris, which offer much better specifications at a cheaper price.
