Byond launches B63 smartphone running on Android 4.1


It seems that there’s nothing like the term “break” as far as the budget smartphone market in India is concerned. Indian manufacturers are going all out and throwing-in a plethora of devices in the market and yesterday, it was Byond’s turn to unveil it’s offering to budget-conscious smartphone buyer in India.
Byond has launched it’s dual-SIM B63 smartphone which boasts of a 4.5-inch  display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. The company claims that the B63 is one on the best smartphones in it’s price segment. Under the hood, the Byond B63 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM, which is a bit of disappointment as considering the price point, Byond could’ve easily slapped in 1GB of RAM into the device.

The Byond B63 houses an 8-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and also, a front-facing VGA camera for video calling. The smartphone comes with 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 32GB using a micro-SD card. The B63 sports all the standard connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G and GPS.
The B63 comes with a 2,000mAh battery and though it has an MRP of Rs.12,499, but the B63 is available for a discounted price of Rs.9,999 from the popular online retailer Flipkart. The Byond B63 is available in two color options- white and black. In order to make the deal more attractive for customers, the company is offering a free carry case and screen guard along with the device.
