ICS-based Samsung Galaxy Chat available in India for Rs. 8,499


The Samsung Galaxy Chat is now available in India for Rs. 8,499. The smartphone was spotted on Saholic.com, where the MRP is stated as Rs. 9,750, but the device is available for Rs. 8,499.

Announced back in July, the Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330 has a 3-inch display with a resolution of 240x320 pixels, and comes with a physical QWERTY keypad. The phone runs on Android 4.0 ICS and under the hood, an 850 MHz processor with 512MB of RAM powers it. It has 4GB built-in storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It has a 2MP rear camera and boasts of Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G and FM Radio with RDS. It is powered by a 1,200-mAh battery and comes in two colours – black and white.
The Samsung Galaxy Chat will come preloaded with quite a few Samsung apps. Samsung’s instant messaging app called Chat On to help you stay in touch with your friends. The phone will also come with Game Hub. Game Hub comes packed with social games. Samsung’s AllShare Play allows users to play multimedia from or to other connected devices. The bundled QuickOffice application will allow users to view and edit Office documents, enabling users to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. The Samsung S Planner app will allow users to manage their schedule.
This isn’t Samsung’s first attempt at a touch and type phone running on the Android OS. We have seen the Samsung Galaxy Y Pro and Y Pro Duos in the past that ran on Android 2.3, and had an 832MHz processor with 384MB RAM. The display on the device was a 2.6-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. It came with 160MB internal storage available to the user, expandable up to 32GB via microSD.
