Airtel is giving free device on Rs 1,999 and Rs 2,999 plans as an introductory offer.
Airtel, which launched its first commercial 4G network in Kolkata, has announced a new tariff plan for the city.
The service offers speeds up to 100 Mbps for downloading, and 40 Mbps for uploading contents. The new plan called 'Break free Ultimate pack' will offer 30 GB of data at full speed for Rs 2,999 per month. Additional usage will not be charged but the speed will reduce to 128 Kbps beyond the 30 GB fair usage limit.
As part of introductory offer, Airtel customers subscribing to 4G services will now be given cash back for the dongle. So if a customer buys Rs 1,999 plan, he will get the device free through cash back offer over 24 bills with a discount of Rs 333 per bill.
Similarly Rs 2999 plan will offer cash back over 12 bill cycles with a Rs 666 cash back per bill.
Initially the service was launched with Rs 999 starting plan offering an unlimited plan with 6 GB fair usage cap (there after at 128 kbps speed), Rs 1399 for 9 GB, going up to 18 GB cap for Rs 1,999.
There is also a money back offer with all these plans starting from Rs 167 per bill (for six bills) for the Rs 999 plan, and Rs 466 and Rs 666 (for 6 bills) for Rs 1399 and Rs 1999 plan respectively. The money back offer will be available for the next 60 days only.
There are two type of devices - one with WiFi hotspot feature costs Rs 7,750 while for Rs 7999 you will get the Multimode dongle. But with the new cash back price of the dongle has been minimized to some extent.
