Samsung's new Android ICS tab to cost around Rs 12K

Samsung has introduced two new generation tablets - Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 for $250 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for $400 in the USA.

Samsung has formally announced its second generation tablets - Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for the USA region. These new Galaxy Tab 2 series tablets are based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will sport Samsung's own TouchWiz user interface richness on it.
The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is the successor to the Galaxy Tab 7.0 and will be available from $249 (Rs 12,850 approximately) onwards. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is the successor of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is priced at $400 (Rs 20,570 approximately) onwards.
The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 series is the best possible iteration of the first generation Galaxy Tab series tablets. These will be available in two different variations in terms of screen size. However, Samsung has been bit hush about the processors used in these tablets.
The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 features a 7-inch touchscreen display and houses a dual-core 1 GHz Samsung Exynos 4210 mobile processor coupled with 1 GB RAM. However, the hardware configuration in terms of processor might differ from region to region.
The 7-inch display of the 7 inch tablet is a most recent PLS (Plane to Line Switching) capacitive touchscreen featuring WSVGA (1024x600) pixel resolution which is similar to many 7-inch tablets including BlackBerry PlayBook.
Bearing under 10.5 mm slim form factor, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet will be one of the first tablets from Samsung to run Android 4.0 ICS with TouchWiz 4.0 UI and LivePanels UX. This tablet will also feature a modest 3 megapixel camera at the back and a VGA camera in the front for video call.
The Galaxy Tab 7 10.1 will feature a 10.1-inch PLS touchscreen display with 1280x800 pixel resolution. Under the slim 9.7 mm chassis rests a dual-core Samsung Exynos family processor with 1 GB memory. Surprisingly, this tablet will feature a 3 megapixel camera at the back which will be capable of recording 720p HD videos. It will have a front facing 0.3 megapixel VGA camera for portrait image capturing.
Both these tablets features integrated Infrared Blaster with Smart Remote App that turns the tablets into universal remote with on-screen keys. Apart from that, these tablets come preloaded with Samsung Hubs - Reader, Music, Game, and Video.
As of now there are no fixed dates for these tablets to arrive in India but we are expecting an announcement in this regard in coming weeks.
