HTC One V ICS ROM ported to Desire S and Desire HD

Rather than waiting for HTC to port Android 4.0 over to their older phones, xda-developer members' member ‘proxuser’ decided to take matters in his own hands and has ported Ice Cream Sandwich for the HTC Desire S and Desire HD. The ROM is actually from the HTC One V that leaked a few weeks ago and since these phones have similar specifications as the One V, it made sense to port it over. The custom ROM is called Primo-S and is currently at v3.3. A bunch of bugs have already been fixed, but it still has a long way to go before it can be used permanently as a lot of features aren’t functional, just yet. The ROM uses Android 4.0.3 as the base and Sense 4.0 (lite version). The ROM is pre-rooted, has multi-language support and you also get 25GB of Dropbox space free. In the current version, the touchscreen works fine along with phone calls as well as packet data like 2G and 3G. Hardware acceleration is also working for both 2D and 3D modes right now. The Wi-Fi and SD cards are also working in the current version. All sensors and also seem to be functioning just fine. Other features that are functioning are Bluetooth, hardware keys and notification lights and GPS. A couple of things that still don’t work are the camera, Wi-Fi hotspot and USB tethering. The new version has fixed some sound issues, the interactive menu for Bluetooth audio, etc. This is definitely great news for users with a Desire S or a Desire HD as they can finally experience ICS now, rather than having to wait for HTC to port it over.
