Tag Heuer, the famous Swiss watchmakers, have announced they will be releasing a luxury Android smartphone, called the Tag Heuer Racer. Priced at roughly $3,700 / €2800, the Tag Heuer Racer is no idle purchase.
The Tag Heuer Racer luxury Android smartphone has apparently been modelled with design inspiration from Formula 1 and GT race cars, and is built out of ultra-lightweight but super sturdy carbon fibre and titanium. The rugged, yet sleek device bears a shock-proof rubber chassis, and is expected to bear a Gorilla Glass display, apart from being water-resistant.
The Swiss watchmaker described its vision for the Racer in its press release:
“Tag Heuer Racer achieves an unparalleled torsion and strength to weight ratio. The result is a fusion of luxury and performance inspired by Tag Heuer heritage in GT cars and Formula 1.”
While Tag Heuer has not revealed too much information about the device, but with four Android buttons, the Racer looks like it will ship with nothing later than Android 2.3 Gingerbread onboard. It will be available in July across Tag Heuer boutiques, luxury phone retailers, as well as watch and jewellery retailers.
