Smartphone will have quad-core processor, 12MP camera and Super Amoled Plus display supporting 720p HD resolution.
US based online retailer, Mobile City Online has listed Samsung Galaxy S III for pre-orders for $800 (Rs 39,880). The pre-order listing page shows the image of the upcoming Galaxy S III GT-I9300 and state that the smartphone will have quad-core mobile processor.
The Galaxy S III will also feature Super Amoled Plus display supporting 720p HD resolution natively. The most astonishing part is the pre-order pricing -Rs 39,880 and is expected to release sometime in second quarter of this year.
Samsung Galaxy S III is one of the most awaited smartphones for this year, sporting a large 4.65-inch Super Amoled Plus touchscreen display with Corning Gorilla Glass toughness. By default, this display will support 1280x720 pixel resolution. The listing states that the Galaxy S III will have GT-I9300 model number and run a quad-core Samsung Exynos 4212 mobile processor clocked at 1.8GHz. Along with this processor, Samsung is said to have packed 2 GB RAM.
This monstrous combination is good enough to run a desktop operating system but Galaxy S III will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and TouchWiz 4.0 UI layered on top with LivePanels UX. The listing hints about a 12 megapixel camera at the back of the smartphone and a 2 megapixel camera in the front. The 12 megapixel camera has been rumored for the Galaxy S III to compete with the Apple iPhone 4S camera. Other features of this smartphone includes Stereo FM Radio with RDS, accelerometer, Gyroscope, compass, WiFi Direct, and GPS.
Samsung Galaxy S III will be available in different models and hardware configurations in USA, Europe, Asia Pacific and South East Asia markets respectively.
We are taking the product listing with a pinch of salt. However, the same online retailer listed the Galaxy Nexus for pre-order last year before the smartphone was officially launched. Infact, Samsung priced Galaxy Nexus at $750 as said by the website before its release.
