Motorola Droid Razr, Atrix 2, Xoom and Xoom 2 owners of Asia-Pacific region can expect the update in coming months.
Motorola has updated the schedule for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich roll out for different regions. As per the updated schedule, Motorola will release the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Android OS running smartphones and tablets from second quarter of this year. Since the roll outs are usually phase-wise, the Android 4.0 ICS updates can be expected to come in April-June period to Asia-Pacific region including India.
Despite of getting acquired by Google, Motorola's development team works parallel and separately over the Android OS. The official Motorola Android software upgrade news page lists the region-wise schedule of the Android 4.0 ICS update for respective devices.
For the Asia-Pacific region which also includes India, the high-end smartphone Droir Razr XT910 will get the Android 4.0 ICS update in second quarter of this year. Recently announced Motorola Atrix 2 smartphone will get Android 4.0 in the second half of this year.
Also the Xoom and Xoom 2 tablets will get the Android 4.0 ICS for tablets in the second quarter of this year for Asia-Pacific region. No other Motorola smartphones available in India is likely to get Android 4.0 ICS update any time soon.
