HTC Desire HD price drops to Rs. 18,990
HTC has slashed price of its Desire HD smartphone by Rs. 8.000 . The HTC Desire HD was launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 26,990 last year. Online shopping site Saholic is selling the Desire HD at Rs. 18,990, claiming to give a 42 per cent discount.
To refresh your memory, the HTC Desire HD sports a 4.3-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, 8MP camera, 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, 768 MB of RAM and 1.5GB internal storage. For connectivity, the device supports 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS support, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and USB 2.0. Cutting down price of the Desire HD is definitely a welcome move from HTC. In our review, we had also pointed out that the Desire HD is an overpriced device. The device was criticised for its bulkiness and small battery in our review. However, built, touchscreen and camera of the device were highly appreciated in the Desire HD review. Of late, a number of manufacturers have used “price cut” tactic to increase sales of their devices. Nokia recently cut price of its latest Lumia 800 smartphone by Rs. 6,000. RIM also followed suit by slashing price of its 64 GB variant of the PlayBook tablet.
