Pentax announced the K-01, an interchangeable lens camera (ILC) designed by famed Australian industrial designer Marc Newson.
The black, white, or bright-yellow K-01 ships with the designer’s autograph logo stamp on the bottom of each camera and eliminates the optical viewfinder, which gave Newson more room for creativity, Pentax said. The standard features include 16 MP resolution, a 3-inch LCD, 30 fps, H.264 1080p video support, a 6 fps burst mode as well as an ISO range from 100 to 25,600.
The basic camera package will be available for $750 in March and sell for $900 when combined with the Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8 XS lens, described as the world’s thinnest interchangeable lens. The lens will be offered as a standalone product for $250 at the same time.
