MWC 2012: Huawei announces new lineup, and "world's fastest smartphone"

Huawei has announced three new Android smartphones at MWC, namely, the Ascend D quad, Ascend D quad XL, and Ascend D1. Huawei is calling the Ascend D quad the ‘world’s fastest smartphone,’ featuring the Chinese telecommunications giant’s new K3V2 quad-core processor, clocked between 1.2GHz and 1.5GHz.

The 8.9mm thick Huawei Ascend D quad has 1GB of RAM, 4.5-inch 1280x720 pixel IPS+ LCD display, a 32-bit true colour graphic processor, a 1080p HD capable 8MP BSI rear camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, Dolby Digital 5.1 sound enhancement, earSmart technology for noise cancellation, and a 1800mAh battery, that should provide up to two days of battery life under normal usage conditions, with Huawei’s new power management technology. It should be launched by Q3 this year, latest.
The Huawei Ascend D quad XL has identical specifications, except for a larger 2,500 mAh battery. The Huawei Ascend D1 is also similar, but features a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor, and 1GB of RAM. It features 21Mbps HSDPA and 5.76Mbps HSUPA connectivity, a 1080p HD 8MP BSI camera with dual-LED flash and HDR functionality, and a 720p HD 1.3MP front-facing camera. Other features include Dolby 5.1 surround sound and Dolby Mobile 3.0 Plus, as well as the same earSmart technology.
