iDevices using A5 chips may get untethered jailbreak next week

Towards the end of December, Pod2G, a jailbreaker had released an untethered jailbreak formost Apple devices running iOS 5.0.1, which is the latest OS from Apple. This was a much awaited release and many people have used it and jailbroken their iOS devices, successfully. However, what the French jailbreaker didn’t release was an untethered jailbreak for Apple devices using the A5 chip. These devices are the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2. It appears that Pod2G has been hard at work once again and through a Twitter post stated that this jailbreak would be available soon.

Pod2G usually details all his announcements on his blog, but this time he just puts up a tweet stating, “I made a step today for the A5. With some luck we could expect a release in a week.”Currently, these are the only two devices missing out on this form of a jailbreak and we are sure that many users who have got their hands on this device are eagerly awaiting the untethered jailbreak.

When Pod2G released his jailbreak for most Apple devices, he stated that he was going to focus his attention on releasing a jailbreak for devices using the A5 chip. It appears that the wait is almost over for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S users. Let us know your reactions on an untethered jailbreak being released by Pod2G in the comments below.
