We saw the benchmarks for the iPhone 4S and it did fare particularly well, as compared to the competition at that time. But, that comparison was quite unjust, considering the other models were relatively older than the newly launched iPhone 4s. Now, with the new Galaxy Nexus, it’s only fair to pit the smartphones together and see which one gets the bragging rights. The folks at Anandtech benchmarked the two smartphones and here’s what the results look like.
Which one would you choose?
In terms of browsing, the Rightware BrowserMark gave the Google Galaxy Nexus a rating of 98272 over the iPhone’s 87841. That clearly makes it, Galaxy Nexus-1, iPhone 4S-0. So a better score in BrowserMark directly relates to faster browsing speed. The Javascript Benchmark gives the Galaxy Nexus a lower score as compared to the 4S, at 1879 points. The good part is that lower the score, the better, which makes it two for the Galaxy Nexus.

However, GPU scores aren’t something that Galaxy Nexus can flex it’s muscles in, as the iPhone beats it hands down with a score of 73.1 in the 720p Offscreen Egypt test. The Galaxy Nexus gets a measly 29.3. That makes it 2-1 to the Galaxy Nexus. The other GPU Pro test also gave the 4S more marks at 123.1 which makes it even stevens for the two phones.
What do you think, as a personal preference, would you choose the Galaxy Nexus or the iPhone 4S? Let us know in the comments section below.
