Google is reportedly rolling out an updated version of
Android Market, 3.1.11, and it is expected to be available for download very soon. The updated Android Market app is said to have a number of new features and a simplified interface. Google has also added the long-awaited auto-update for all apps feature in the new version. The new feature automatically sets all the apps on auto update mode, without requiring user's direction to do so. The upgrade comes days after Google rolled an updated version of Android Market for devices, meant only for
Android 2.2 Froyo and above operating systems.

Besides the auto-update feature, Google's updated Android Market app features voice-based search, allowing users to explore content without requiring to type anything. Google also offers users to set auto-update program only with Wi-Fi network, helping users to save on GPRS or mobile bandwidth. The new Android Market version should work on both tablets and smartphones, though it does not work properly on Honeycomb tablets. Other notable features of the new app includes Star rating chart on app pages, Auto-add shortcuts (lets you add homescreen shortcuts for new apps, very much like Honeycomb), smaller fonts and new app drawer icon. According to
Android Police, the updated app has some minor changes in the UI as well.
Few weeks ago, Google had rolled out an updated version of Android Market. The update then offered detailed information in the listing and app pages. It also gave a facelift to the navigation, adding a new home screen layout inclusive of promotions and listings, apart from the categories. Side swipes now allow users to quickly flip pages and sections. Check out more details about the previous update
