Google Has Its Own Beer (Gulp!)

Google and Dogfish Head have teamed up to create a beer with notes of coffee, chocolate-covered cherries, and twice the amount of alcohol seen in your typical beer.
ZoomGoogle has reportedly joined up with brewer Dogfish Head to produce a Belgian Dubbel beer called URKontinent. The search engine giant even brought a list of recommended ingredients to the table as well as its own honey pulled from its Californian beehives.
Dogfish describes the beer as "hearty, with notes of coffee and chocolate-covered cherries." The brew's ingredients have been pulled from every corner of the earth including wattleseed from Australia, amaranth from South America, rooibos from Africa and myrica gale from Europe. It's also supposed to contain twice the amount of alcohol seen in your typical beer.
"The careful combination of all these ingredients creates a complex dark Belgian style ale with wonderful coffee and chocolate covered cherry flavors," Dogfish states. "The roastiness of the malt and wattleseed melds with the fruity esters from the yeast, the floral notes from the rooibos, and the malty yet dry signature of a Belgian Dubbel."
URKontinent is available here in the States at Dogfish's brewpub, but in limited quantities. If the beer proves successful, then Google and Dogfish may talk about a wider distribution. But according to Google, this whole project was merely a bit of fun from "a group of craft-brewery aficionados across the company."
Google reportedly does not receive any proceeds from the sale of each drink, nor does the company plan to enter the beer business. If anything, it was merely a marketing gimmick.
