Root your optimus one p500

Hey guys previously i had posted that how you can upgrade ur LG optimus p500. But that really is possible only when u root ur device.
If you dont root and directly upgrade ur Device officially, after that you wont be able to flash o root it.
Also one more downside is that the version doent support USB storage which i know that almost Gingerbread doesn’t have.
So its better you install Cyanogenmod version instead.

Major Differences from Cyanogen:
  1. Better handling of gallery.
  2. Same interface from Froyo Firmware.
  3. Does not support Tweaks in Settings.
  4. Faster connection manager.
  5. Touch screen is not that snappy compared to Cyanogen.
  6. Does not crash compared to Cyanogen.
Moving of applications to sdcard is limited unlike in Cyanogen.

Now this is how you can root your Optimus one p500.

Rooting/Jailbreaking your device gives you access to the core files of your Android OS so that you can mess around with your phone better. Many apps require your phone be rooted, hence this article to help you achieve that.

Note: z4root cannot root your device if you have upgraded your Firmware to the V10E update.

Rooting your LG Optimus One P500 is a walk in the park.

Follow these steps and you're good to go :
  1. Download z4root.1.3.0.apk
  2. Connect your phone to your PC via USB, turn on USB Storage and paste this file in the Downloads folder on the Removable Drive of your phone (for uber n00bs, advanced users may feel free to shove it anywhere)
  3. Now after the file has been copied, Turn off USB Storage from your phone, wait for SD card to be ready and then unplug the USB Cable from the phone.
  4. Press the central launcher button and scroll to OI File Manager (or any other file manager you have) and open the downloads folder.
  5. Touch the z4root.1.3.0.apk file and install it.
  6. After installing, goto the app drawer and click on the z4root icon
  7. Select Permanent root
  8. It'll ask you to enable USB debugging, enable it.
  9. Confirm your action by touching OK
  10. The screen will stop and will go white for sometime (around 30 seconds) and then reboot
  11. Once rebooted, touch the central app launcher button and scroll down to the downloaded apps and click on z4root icon.
  12. If it shows the option to Re-root or Un-root, congratulations! You can have a cookie from my side. Don't forget to comment .
