Samsung Countersues Apple in Australia

Samsung has countersued Apple in Australia, adding yet another lawsuit to the stack of files these two companies have been flinging at each other since April of this year.
Apple and Samsung have been at it for months, but it doesn't look like either side will be giving up any time soon. Samsung has just slapped Apple with a countersuit in Australia, claiming that the company's iPad and iPhone devices infringe upon Samsung owned patents relating to wireless technology. This is the same basis Samsung has been using in its other lawsuits against Apple. Similarly, Apple is once again claiming that Samsung's Galaxy S smartphones and Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet are too much like the iPhone and the iPad.
Last we heard, Samsung had delayed the Australian launch of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 while it attempted to sort out its legal woes with Apple. Apple in August filed suit against Samsung alleging patent infringement. Samsung then planned to launch a modified version of the Galaxy Tab in Australia but Apple claimed that this new model still infringed upon two of its patents. As a result, a two-day hearing was scheduled for September 25 and 26. Samsung said it didn't mind holding off on a launch until it hears the results of the two-day hearing.
Naturally, we'll keep you posted and update when we learn the results of that hearing.
